´Het Licht mag Flikkeren´
´The Light May Flicker´
In the painting, we see a harbor in the stillness of night, illuminated by orange street lamps that break through the darkness with their ‘flickering’ light. The lamps cast their warm glow over the water. While the light itself is steady, its reflection on the rippling surface makes it appear to dance, as if flickering in the dark. A boat quietly enters the harbor, surrounded by these ‘flickering’ lights.

´Voor de Storm´
´Before the storm´
In the painting, a large sailing ship glides over the rolling, blue sea. The wind fills its sails, propelling it forward, yet a menacing storm gathers on the horizon. Gray clouds loom, a threat steadily approaching. There is no calm sea, no complete tranquility—only the ongoing tension between the ship and the elements, between progress and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.

´Vogels van de Lente´
´The Birds of Spring´
In the painting, two birds sit quietly on branches, surrounded by blossoms just beginning to bloom. The colors of the flowers are soft, the background hazy, and the overall mood serene. The birds seem to pause for a moment of calm amidst a world in renewal. They symbolize the transition to a new season, carrying the promise of renewal and fresh possibilities.

´Hert bij de Dageraad´
´Deer at Dawn´
In the painting, a majestic stag stands in the foreground, calmly gazing at the viewer, with a gently flowing river beside it and the sun slowly rising behind the forest. The early morning light casts warm shades of orange and pink across the sky, which are softly reflected in the water. The stag remains still, its gaze fixed on the observer, creating an intimate connection between the animal and the viewer.

´Een plek van vroeger´
´A Place of the Past´
This painting was created as a personal gift for my “beppe” — grandmother in the Frisian dialect — and is inspired by the peace, warmth, and simplicity of rural life from earlier times. The old farmhouse, the flowers surrounding the yard, and the freely wandering chickens come together to evoke a sense of nostalgia and comfort, like a memory of a place where time passes more slowly.
Through soft colors and loose brushstrokes, this work aims not only to capture a landscape, but above all a feeling — the warmth of home, memories of the past, and the connection to family and tradition.
