Before the storm

On the painting, a large sailing ship moves across the rolling blue sea. The wind fills its sails and carries the vessel forward, but on the horizon a threatening storm is gathering. Gray clouds build up in the distance, a looming presence that draws ever closer.
There is no calm sea, no complete stillness—only a constant tension between the ship and the elements, between progress and what is yet to come.
